The Kansas Association of Community Foundations is a membership organization for philanthropic entities across the state. KACF offers a range of resources and tools to members and encourages foundations of all sizes to join.

NBCG was hired to create a clean, eye-catching and informative website to help KACF achieve their goals. The new site serves as a useful tool for promotion, improves members’ experience and provides important news to stakeholders.

Website Design and Development

To begin, New Boston interviewed the KACF team to discuss design preferences, develop goals for how the website should function and establish page elements. With that information in mind, we created design compositions (incorporating their logo, colors, stylistic elements, etc.) to present for review. After a few rounds of revisions, a final design was approved, and we began building.

We developed the website theme to incorporate responsive design and development techniques, so the site easily rescales for use on multiple screen sizes and devices like smartphones and tablets. To ensure functionality and accessibility, we created the site’s structure based on current guidelines.

Our team assisted with entering and transferring content to the new website. Once it was finished, we trained KACF staff so they can easily make changes or updates to the website’s content in the future.

Important features of the KACF website include a member login section, a separate board and committee member login section, an interactive Google Map of community foundations searchable by town or county, and an integration of current social media efforts. Through the membership login, users can maintain their own foundation information, post and respond to questions, share events and search available resources and opportunities.
