Greater Manhattan Economic Partnership
The Greater Manhattan Economic Partnership (GMEP) is a joint effort between the Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce and the Pottawatomie County Economic Development Corporation to promote job growth and prosperity in our region. Together, they collaborate with various private, public and nonprofit stakeholders to show site selectors, businesses and future residents why the Greater Manhattan region is an ideal place to be.
In service of this effort, New Boston developed, produced and manages a content marketing campaign that includes strategic content development for target industries, digital marketing, social media management and a website.
Website
In 2020, NBCG worked with the GMEP team to design a website that was easy to use, eye catching, informative and well organized. Then, in 2023, the NBCG team redesigned the previous website with additional capabilities and sections to adapt to GMEP's growing needs. With an engaging homepage, colorful graphics that match GMEP's branding, intuitive headings and more, the new website allows businesses and potential residents to find exactly what they're looking for and discover the growth potential for their business in the Greater Manhattan region.
Content Development and Graphic Design
NBCG has written and edited nearly 100 stories, including original and third-party pieces in collaboration with GMEP staff and partners. The stories, developed by working closely with the client and subject matter experts to ensure proper tone and accuracy, are a combination of press releases, business profiles and interviews. NBCG uses best practices for search engine optimization and has seen GMEP’s website traffic from organic search grow 52% (by number of users). As part of this process, we implement and manage an editorial calendar to track content creation from authorship to publishing and promotion. Traffic to GMEP’s website increased each year, with most recent data showing a year-over-year increase of 55% (individual users and number of website sessions).
The NBCG team also creates graphics and edits photos for the articles, social media posts and emails. Each eye-catching design was made to complement the story and provide additional detail.
Digital Marketing
NBCG runs GMEP’s social media accounts, including organic and paid promotions, on four platforms. This includes posting original and third-party content, developing and implementing a paid strategy to reach the target audience, monitoring and responding to comments and analyzing performance metrics. To date, the organic following has grown 277%. In addition to running GMEP’s pages on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram, NBCG conducted key term research and developed a search ad campaign on Google Ads. We monitor performance of all paid efforts, update ads and make enhancements as indicated by results.
We provide regular performance updates to the GMEP team, as well as formal reports to investors and other stakeholders.
Using a client's existing email marketing account and a custom-designed email template, NBCG launched a newsletter to GMEP's primary audiences. After a year, we strategically expanded the program to reach key personnel in three additional targeted industries. We tailor messaging and content for each audience segment and manage the production and scheduling of all four newsletters.
