In 2014, NBCG had the pleasure of designing Kansas Wheat's website. They needed a space to engage with both producers and consumers, so we created a site where they could quickly and easily update content with a custom dashboard tailored to their needs.

Then, in 2023, Kansas Wheat needed a refresh. Their team wanted a modernized theme for the homepage and secondary pages, the most updated version of Drupal (our preferred content management system) and training to maintain everything once the project finished.

Website Development

To begin, NBCG interviewed the folks at Kansas Wheat to discover preferences, goals for the website, desired functions and more. We then created design compositions that incorporated existing branding (logo, colors, fonts, etc.). The compositions included a sample homepage for Kansas Wheat to review, provide feedback on and, ultimately, approve.

Using the agreed-upon compositions, our team developed a site structure adhering to current W3C standards (best practices determined by the World Wide Web Consortium) for design and functionality. To extend the life of the website, we upgraded Kansas Wheat’s site to the latest version of Drupal. This configuration allowed for faster maintenance, improved file management and other benefits. We ensured mobile-friendly design techniques were used throughout development, so users have an easy, pleasant experience no matter what device they use.

Once the website was built, NBCG assisted with moving content from the previous version of the website to the new one. Our team also trained representatives from Kansas Wheat on how to easily enter, edit and organize website content, so they’re able to fully control their site moving forward.
