Have you ever used lists on Twitter? They are a great way to filter content in your feed, so you can more easily track topics/people/businesses that are of interest to you.

For example, let’s say you follow a lot of people, but want to have quick access to what your clients are tweeting about. You can create a list of your clients and filter out their content.

You can either create your own list (public or private) or subscribe to a public list someone else has created.

Today, we’ll walk you through how to create a list of your own.

To create a list on Twitter:

1. Click on your profile icon and select “Lists” from the drop-down menu.

2. Click to create a new list.

3. A pop-up will appear. Enter the details for your list and click “Save list.”

4. Add people/businesses to follow.

You can either do this from the list page under your profile by searching for users:

… or you can add users from their pages or even your followers/following pages by clicking on the gear and selecting to add (or remove!) them from your list.

From there, a pop-up will appear with a list of your lists (how meta!). Check the box next to the list(s) you want to add them to and click to close the window.

That's it!

Now you can start enjoying that curated content ...

Once you’ve created a list, you can view a feed of only those users by accessing your lists page from your profile page or drop-down menu.

Keep in mind that lists are not a way to message these groups. Lists are only for reading tweets to help you curate content.
